Me Playing a Jig,, mixed with Fairy Stories, I think it was Séamus Ennis, who said he got it from one of the '' Little People '' if he gave over his Gold Ring -- '' And he did , and here's the tune '' -- lol....

British Pathé

This isn't about Irish music at all, but very interesting for anyone interested in Irish history. Pathé News has just released 3,500 hours of Irish film footage dating back to 1900 on its website. These newsreels have been unavailable until archivists digitized the collection.

Videos include rare footage of JFK's visit to Ireland in 1963, Michael Collins on the election trail, and German bombing in Dublin in 1942. Things like the new Dáil cabinet in 1922, the War Of Independence, the foundation of the Republic, World War II, and Ireland's version of the "swinging Sixties" are included as well.

Well worth a look!
