Me Playing a Jig,, mixed with Fairy Stories, I think it was Séamus Ennis, who said he got it from one of the '' Little People '' if he gave over his Gold Ring -- '' And he did , and here's the tune '' -- lol....

The Tamient Library is host to the Mick Moloney Irish-American Music and Popular Culture Collection, one of the largest collections in the U.S. for the study of Irish-American music and popular culture.

Mick Moloney emigrated to the United States in 1973 from Limerick, and is a professor at NYU. He is the author of the book and CD Far from the Shamrock Shore (2002), as well as numerous essays on Irish music and musical culture, and has a Ph.D. in folklore and folklife from the University of Pennsylvania.

This summer in the Reading Room at the Tamient Library, there is an exhibit being shown called "Archives of Irish America: Highlights from the Moloney Collection".

But if you can't get down to New York to see the exhibit, they have posted a few highlights on Flicker.

Most of the stuff is from the 1890s, and shows how the Irish were perceived when they first arrived in America.

Highlights from the Moloney Collection.
